Inzaghi’s professional career began in 1991 when he was promoted from youth academy to senior squad of Piacenza Calcio. In his debut season, he made a few appearances and scored a couple of goals.
In 1992 Piacenza Calcio decided to loan Inzaghi to U.C. AlbinoLeffe for the 1992/93 season for the young striker to get used to a starting lineup of a professional team. During the season in Leffe, Filippo played smoothly and confidently scoring 13 goals in 21 matches.
In 1993 Filippo continued his career as a loaned player in Hellas Verona F.C. During the 1993/94 season Inzaghi appeared in 36 games and scored 13 goals. After returning to Piacenza Calcio, Filippo played one last season for his home club, and scored 15 goals in 39 matches.
In 1995 Filippo signed a contract with Parma F.C. The 1995/96 season became the most unsuccessful one in the Italian striker’s entire career, as he had scored only 2 goals in 15 matches. In 1996 Inzaghi was invited to Atalanta B.C., where he was promised a spot in the starting lineup and his favorite striker position. During the 1996/97 season he appeared in 33 matches and scored 24 goals.
Inzaghi’s brilliant performance attracted attention of various top clubs, but Juventus F.C. was the most flexible and persistent in its desire to sign a contract with the talented striker. Filippo was happy to sign a contract with a top Italian club, and stayed there until 2001. Since his debut season in Juventus, Inzaghi was included in the starting lineup of the club, and performed well in it. Since 1997 Inzaghi played 122 matches for the club and scored 58 goals.
In 2001 Inzaghi was still a tidbit for the top Italian clubs, due to his obvious talent and great performance. A.C. Milan offered Juventus F.C. 17 million pounds for Inzaghi and the club from Turin could not resist. Filippo had signed a long-term contract with A.C. Milan and extended it over and over again afterwards. Filippo Inzaghi is Milan’s legendary player who scored 73 goals in 202 matches.
From 1993 to 1996 Filippo took part in 14 matches of the Italian U-21 and scored 3 goals. From 1997 to 2007 Filippo played for the Italian national football team and scored 25 goals in 57 games.
